Fuad Nasir joins Optimal Blue as VP of hedging and trading

Optimal Blue deepens capital markets bench with addition of 20-year industry leader
PLANO, Texas, Feb. 24, 2026 – Optimal Blue today announced the appointment of Fuad Nasir as vice president of product management for hedging and trading, further strengthening the company’s capital markets leadership at a pivotal time for mortgage markets.
In his new role, Nasir will help guide Optimal Blue’s next phase of hedging and trading innovation with a focus on strengthening risk visibility, enhancing model oversight and equipping capital markets teams to protect margins and execute with greater confidence in volatile markets. He will also work to further embed hedging strategy within Optimal Blue’s end-to-end capital markets platform, bringing risk insights closer to daily pricing and execution decisions.
“Capital markets leaders are operating in one of the most complex environments we’ve seen in years,” said Erin Wester, chief product officer at Optimal Blue. “Hedging can’t function in isolation. It has to be tightly connected to pricing, execution and performance analytics. Fuad will work alongside our experienced hedging and trading product team to accelerate how risk insight is embedded into the workflows our clients depend on every day.”
“Optimal Blue sits at the center of the capital markets workflow for so many lenders,” Nasir said. “The opportunity to further integrate hedging, pricing and trading capabilities within a unified platform is compelling. Lenders need precise risk insight and execution confidence, and I look forward to helping expand the tools and analytics that support those outcomes.”
Nasir joins Optimal Blue after nearly 20 years at Mortgage Industry Advisory Corporation (MIAC), where he held senior leadership roles within the firm’s secondary solutions group. There, he advised institutional mortgage lenders on hedge strategy and risk analytics, supported trading activity across multi-billion-dollar portfolios and served as a senior representative at industry conferences and client engagements. Over the course of his tenure, he worked across hedge advisory, pipeline risk management, TBA trading and MSR valuation, partnering with product and sales teams to advance secondary marketing solutions.
Nasir holds a master’s degree in economics and finance from Murray State University and a bachelor’s degree in economics with concentrations in mathematics and physics from Centre College.
